Heisman Race: Week 2

  1. Caleb Williams, QB, USC

Caleb sits at the top spot in my Heisman ranking this week. He continues to put up absurd numbers, leading USC to a massive victory in which he compiled over 300 total yards and 4 TDs in just one half of play.

  2. Michael Penix, Jr., QB, Washington

Penix has put up gaudy numbers in Washington’s 2-0 start to the season, amassing 859 yds and 8 TDs passing to just 1 INT. He is a real factor in this year’s race, and will go as Washington’s season goes.

  3. Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas

Ewers came away as the leader of a statement win for Texas in Tuscaloosa, and looked like the kind of pocket quarterback who can lead the Horns to a conference title, and perhaps more.

  4. Jordan Travis, QB, Florida State

Travis, a veteran leader now for the Noles, has put himself in the conversation largely on the back of FSU’s dominant win over LSU in week 1, in which Travis looked poised and confident. Should FSU continue to win and become the ACC champion, he looks to be firmly in the mix come December.

  5. Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

In one of the breakout stories of the year, Shedeur has played some great football and led the Buffaloes to an easy win over Nebraska in what turned out to be a snoozer. He put up 393 yds passing with 2 TDs and no INTs as Colorado moved to 2-0 on the season, doubling its win total from 2022.
